Grok is a famous AI chatbot developed by Elon Musk’s company, xAI, and is used on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Grok is mainly used to answer user queries and edit photos. The AI platform became popular due to the viral Ghibli-style image trend.
Recently, some users on X started uploading photos of women and even children and asked Grok to modify the images so that the people appeared in sexualized ways. In response, the bot generated altered images and posted them publicly on the platform.
One X user even prompted Grok to write an apology for generating such inappropriate images. The bot produced a message saying “I am sorry” and claimed that its safeguards had failed. However, this apology was simply another AI-generated response to a user prompt, as the AI itself is not conscious or self-aware.
The company said it was urgently fixing the issue. It also clearly stated that child sexual abuse material is illegal and strictly prohibited. X platform stated that it removes illegal content, suspends accounts that post such material, and cooperates with law enforcement and authorities whenever required.
Both India and France acted against Grok AI, stating that such misuse is unacceptable. They demanded strict action, stronger safety controls, and legal accountability from the company.

Conclusion
The company has admitted that there were safety problems and said it is fixing them. It has removed some inappropriate content and promised to enforce its rules more strictly while continuing to work with authorities. Governments have also demanded stronger action and full compliance with laws.
